A well-loved treat in our household, chickpeas, also called garbanzo beans, have a very distinctive flavor. These are the beans that hummus is made of (stay tuned!) We eat them a lot of different ways, but our favorite is eating them like popcorn.
Cooked or canned chickpeas (the amount depends on how many you want to make), make sure to pat the chickpeas dry with a cloth.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix chickpeas and a flavor variations (see below).
On an dry baking sheet, place the chickpeas and bake until golden brown and crispy.
Coat chickpeas with ground cumin, ground coriander, ground ginger and salt and pepper. Add some garam masala for spice.
Add ground cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. After chickpeas are cooked, add some nutritional yeast.
Salt and Vinegar
Soak chickpeas in white vinegar overnight, pat dry and add some salt; bake.
Soak chickpeas in balsamic vinegar for 2-4 hours, season with oregano, salt and pepper; bake.
